2025 Changes To NSW Single Sex Secondary School Catchment (Canterbury Boys and Girls High School)

As previously discussed, all areas previously exclusively covered by only boys and girls high school in NSW has been updated in 2025 so that there is coverage by a nearby coed school as well.

Today we will go over what the extended coverage of what use to be Canterbury Boys and Girls High School catchment by the nearby high schools.

The combined striped area are all part of the Canterbury Boys and Girls High School catchment, this was not changed from 2024 to 2025.

The black border is the 2025 catchment boundary and the red is the 2024 boundary.

The purple striped area is covered by Strathfield South High School in 2025.

The two green striped areas are covered by Kingsgrove North High School in 2025.

The pink striped area is covered by Kingsgrove High School in 2025.

The red striped area is covered by Marrickville High School in 2025, it must have most available space out of nearby high schools.

The yellow striped area is covered by Dulwich High School of Visual Arts and Design in 2025.

The most common name used by the NSW Department of Education is called “catchment” which refers to those students who reside in a particular area and are guaranteed a position in specific schools. When discussed from the perspective of a particular school is often referred to as one of the following terms.

School intake area
School catchment
