2025 ACT, Canberra College Year 11 to 12 Priority Enrolment Area Map Update

There are no changes to the priority enrolment area for the colleges priority enrolment areas from 2023 to now. I did correct what appears to be a mistake in the 2023 version of the map, everything should be up to date now.

2025 ACT, Canberra High School Year 7 to 10 Priority Enrolment Area Map Update

Two new high school is added in ACT for 2025, the population increase had to be fairly significant, resulting in opening a number of new schools within the last few years.

First one is Shirley Smith High School which covers the suburbs of Downer, Forde(part), Franklin, Gungahlin, Harrison, Kenny, Lyneham(part), Mitchell, Ngunnawal(part), Throsby. Second one is Aunty Agnes Shea High School formerly known as North Gungahlin High School which cover the suburbs of Taylor, Moncrieff, Jacka(part)

I have completed the update for 2025, very minor changes, mostly smoothing the borders, should have almost no impact to residents.

2022 ACT, Canberra College Year 11 to 12 Priority Enrolment Area Map Update

There are no changes to the priority enrolment area for the colleges for 2023. However, there is a fair number of plans for 2024. I updated the map so the layer is named 2023 instead of 2022 to avoid potential confusion.

2023 ACT, Canberra High School Year 7 to 10 Priority Enrolment Area Map Update

Only two changes at the high school level for school zones for 2023 in ACT.
The new Evelyn Scott School High School Campus (Year 7 to Year 10) will open in 2023. It includes the entire suburbs of Whitlam, Denman Prospect, Molonglo, Coombs, and Wright.

As from the ACT Department of Education website. From 2023 the section of Gungahlin and Ngunnawal bounded by Gungahlin Drive, Ginninderra Creek, Mirrabei Drive, Gozzard Street, and from the southern terminus of Gozzard Street across to Gungahlin Drive adjacent to the intersection of Kosciuszko Avenue and Gungahlin Drive Palmerston will be included in the PEA for Harrison School (7-10).

I have completed the update for 2023, the only change is that the newly established Evelyn Scott School. Its priority enrolment area now consists of the following suburbs, Denman Prospect, Molonglo, Whitlam, and Wright – north of Opperman Ave is a shared PEA with Charles Weston School.

2022 ACT, Canberra College Year 11 to 12 Priority Enrolment Area Map Update

Same as the high school level change, the suburb Whitlam is officially included in the shared priority enrolment area between Hawker and Canberra College.

Gungahlin and Dickson College are now one Priority Enrolment Area Zone shared between both colleges. Residents of both Priority Enrolment Areas are able to apply to enrol across both Colleges. However, Gungahlin College is a high-utilisation College and will prioritise acceptance of enrolments from within the Gungahlin region up to available capacity.

There is only one update for 2022, the new suburb Whitlam is now shared priority enrolment of Belconnen and Canberra High School.

2022 ACT, Canberra Priority Enrolment Area For Primary Schools

There is a fair number of changes to the priority enrolment area for ACT primary schools for 2022. First, there are two new primary schools established as follows.

Franklin Primary School use to be an infant school catering up to year 2. In 2022 it has been confirmed as full primary school covering all year range.

Throsby Primary School has taken over the southern part of Forde from Neville Bonner Primary School. Also, it shares Gungahlin with Harrison Primary School. The green striped part is an exclusive priority enrolment area for Throsby Primary School. The red striped area is shared with Harrison Primary School.

Ainslie Primary school’s priority enrolment area has been expanded. All existing priority enrolment area of North Ainslie Primary School and the entire suburb of Waston is now part of the shared priority enrolment area of Ainslie Primary School in 2022.

The green striped area is the existing 2021 priority enrolment area and the red striped area is now shared priority enrolment area added to the Ainslie Primary School in 2022.

The entire suburb of Casey is no longer a shared priority enrolment area for Margaret Hendry School, it is now exclusively part of the priority enrolment area for Gold Creek Primary School. The red striped area is what got transferred in 2022.

Evelyn Scott School has expanded its priority enrolment area in 2022 to include the suburb of Molonglo and Whitlam. These are shown in the red-striped area in the below screenshot.

Part of West Gungahlin and of Ngunnawal suburb is no longer part of the Palmerston District Primary School priority enrolment area. The red-striped area is the area that is affected in 2022.

Same as the high school level change, there is actually only one change that I find by comparing the most up-to-date data. The suburb Strathnairn is officially included in the priority enrolment area of Hawker College.
