2025 Randwick High School Catchment Update

This is first year that Randwick Boys and Girls High School merged into Randwick High School. Previously Randwick Boys High School has a sizable under enrolment problem where its counterpart Randwick Girls High School does not. What this means is the new school has fair amount of spare capacity, it is not a surprise that its catchment area has increased significantly in 2025.

The black border is the 2025 catchment boundary and the red is the 2024 boundary. That being said, this year’s changes are so massive, it will be difficult to see every thing from the image below.

I have covered some of the changes in the previous blog discussing the changes to the Inner City High School a few weeks back. The green striped area is the part of catchment Randwick High School retained from 2024.

The yellow striped area is what transferred from Inner City High School to Randwick High School in 2025.

The purple striped area is what transferred from Rose Bay Secondary College to Randwick High School in 2025.

The red striped area is what transferred away from Randwick High School to South Sydney High School in 2025.

The area transferred to Randwick High School in its norther parts area all large and densely populated. The area transferred to South Sydney High School consist of mostly single dwellings so this particular change should not affect the enrolment that much for both school.

The most common name used by the NSW Department of Education is called “catchment” which refers to those students who reside in a particular area and are guaranteed a position in specific schools. When discussed from the perspective of a particular school is often referred to as one of the following terms.

School Zone
School intake area
School catchment

As usual, contact the school in question or the Department of Education for the final confirmation and you can also access the full NSW and Sydney Public School Catchment Map by following this link.
