2023 Googong Public School Catchment Update

The Googong is a newly constructed public school with space for 370 students catering to the growing population around Queanbeyan opening in 2023. Its opening will result in a significant reduction in the catchment of nearby public schools in particular Queanbeyan South Public School.

The green striped area will be a part of the Googong Public School catchment in 2023. This area is under Queanbeyan South Public School in 2022. In particular, the Googong suburb area is densely populated, this will result in a significant reduction in enrolment number for Queanbeyan South Public School from 2023 onwards.

The red striped area will be transferred to be under the Googong Public School catchment area from Queanbeyan Public School in 2023. These areas contain very few residential properties, so not expecting a large impact on the enrolment number for Queanbeyan Public School in 2023.

The yellow striped area will be transferred to be under the Googong Public School catchment area from Michelago Public School in 2023. This area contains mostly semi-rural residential properties. However, the area is pretty sizable, so will be a decent impact on Michelago Public School’s enrolment number next year.

The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.
