Today, I will go over Manly Vale Public School and its new catchment for 2023. Manly Vale Public School has recently completed a major upgrade in early 2020. This particular upgrade is very extensive and with the following items completed.

• Partial refurbishment of the administration block.
• 40 new classrooms.
• A new hall.
• A new library.
• A new canteen.
• Covered outdoor learning areas (COLA).
• Enhanced open spaces.

Above is information obtained NSW school infrastructure website.

As a result of this major upgrade, it will pick a major catchment expansion in 2023. This will mean a major increase in enrolment numbers for Manly Vale Public School in 2023.

In the northwest, it will pick up a small area from Allambie Heights Public School, this area mostly consists of low-density single dwellings. This area is highlighted with green stripes.

In the north on both sides of Warringah Golf Club, it will pick up a sizable area from Brookvale Public School in 2023, this area also mostly consists of low-density single dwellings as well. This area is highlighted with yellow stripes.

In the east, it is picking up a really significant area north of Pittwater Road from Harbord Public School in 2023. This area is a mix of low to medium-density dwellings. This area is highlighted with orange stripes.

In the south, it will pick up two areas from Manly West Public School, these two areas are all commercial buildings or gulf courses, so it will have no real impact on enrolment. These areas are highlighted in purple.

The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

Today, I will go over Allambie Heights Public School and its new catchment for 2023.

The small area wedged between Allenby and Goroka Park will be transferred from Beacon Hill Public School to Allambie Heights Public School in 2023. This area consists of entirely low-density single dwellings.

A small slice of the area to the south of the existing catchment for Allambie Heights Public School will be transferred to Manly Vale Public School in 2023. This area also consists of low-density single dwellings as well.

The area gained and transferred out by Allambie Heights Public School in 2023 is very similar in size and number of dwellings, so there will be a very limited impact on enrolment numbers in 2023.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred away from Allambie Heights Public School to Manly Vale Public School in 2023. The red-striped area is what will be transferred to the Allambie Public School from Beacon Hill Public School in 2023. The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

Today, I will go over Brookvale Public School and its new catchment for 2023. There was a recent upgrade with Brookvale Public School that was completed in November 2020 with an increase in teaching space and upgraded facilities.

Brookvale Public School will give up the portion of the catchment south of the Warringah Mall and either side of the Warringah golf course to Manly Vale Public School in 2023. This area is pretty big but consists of pretty much all single dwellings. This area is highlighted with green stripes in the south.

A small slice of the area south of Warringah Road consisting of around 40 houses will be transferred from Brookvale Public School to Narraweena Public School in 2023. This area is also highlighted with green stripes in the northern part of the Brookvale Public School catchment.

The big changes are in the northeast corner of the Brookvale Public School catchment. It gained the red striped area from Dee Why Public School and the yellow striped area from Curl Curl North Public School. The area picked up from Dee Why Public School is super high density and consists entirely of medium to high-density residential buildings. So this will have a pretty dramatic impact on the enrolment number of Brookvale Public School in 2023. The area gained from Curl Curl North Public School mainly consists of commercial buildings, so limited impact on enrolment.

Today, I will go over Curl Curl North Public School and its new catchment for 2023. There was a recent upgrade with Curl Curl North Public School that was completed in February 2021 with an increase in new permanent teaching spaces and an upgrade to other facilities.

It has given up a portion of its existing catchment on the northwest corner to the Brookvale Public School in 2023. This area mostly consists of commercial buildings, but there is one high-density apartment building already, and looking at Google map, more are coming up, so we can expect an increase in population density in this area in the near future. At this stage, the impact on enrolment numbers should be minimal.

It will gain a small area on the northeast corner of Dee Why Public School in 2023. However, the density is really high. I did a rough count there are about 40 plus medium-density residential buildings and 15 or so single dwellings. From what I can see more units were being built and probably already finished as there is a delay in Google street map images compared to what is happening on the ground. This means despite the area transferred being relatively small, it will increase the enrolment number in Curl Curl North Public School a fair bit at the kindergarten level next year.

The upcoming catchment changes will result in an increase in enrolment numbers, this is likely due to the completion of recent upgrades to the school in 2021.

Today, I will go over Narraweena Public School and its new catchment for 2023.

It has given up a portion of its existing catchment on the west side to the Beacon Hill Public School in 2023. This area mostly consists of low-density single dwellings, so limited impact on enrolment numbers.

It will exchange some small areas on the north side with Cromer Public School in 2023. The areas exchanged are very small, only really twenty to thirty houses or so are involved in this change, so the impact will be extremely limited.

It will pick up a very large section on the east side from the existing catchment of Dee Why Public School. This area is very sizable and includes a lot of low-density houses and a number of medium-density buildings, so the increase in enrolment for Narraweena Public School due to this change will be significant in 2023.

It will pick up a small area along Warringah Road in the south from the existing catchment of Brookvale Public School. This change is also very minor only involves about 35 to 40 houses.

The red-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Narraweena Public School from nearby schools in 2023. The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

Today, I will go over Dee Why Public School and its new catchment for 2023. It will give up very significant parts of the existing catchment in 2023.

The northwest corner of the existing catchment 2022 will be transferred to Cromer Public School in 2023. This area is sizable but mostly consists of industry areas and the rest are mostly single dwellings.

The western edge of its current catchment will become part of the Narraweena Public School in 2023. This area is also pretty sizable and contains a number of medium-density residential buildings, but mostly still single dwellings.

The area around the Dee Why commercial area around Pittwater road on the southwest corner of its existing catchment is being transferred to Brookvale Public School in 2023. I had a look at the map and this area is consist entirely of medium to high-density units. So the impact on the 2023 enrolment number for both Brookvale and Dee Why Public School will very significant.

Dee Why Public School will transfer the southeast corner of its existing 2022 catchment to Curl Curl North Public School in 2023. This area mainly consists of medium-density units, so should be a fairly decent impact, but due to the smaller area, it will have a much smaller impact compared to the transfer to Brookvale Public School.

Overall speaking, the 2023 change to Dee Why Public School catchment should result in a very significant reduction in its enrolment numbers at the kindergarten level and slowly filter out to the other year ranges in the following years. I am guessing around a 30 to 40 percent reduction in kindergarten enrolment number in 2023 is likely, this is, of course, an educated guess, so take it with a grain of salt.

Today, I will go over Cromer Public School and its new catchment for 2023. It has given up two very small slices of its existing catchment on the south side to the Narraweena Public School in 2023. It will pick up a sizable area on the east side from the existing catchment of Dee Why Public School in 2023.

All the areas being transferred away and into the Cromer Public School is low-density single dwellings. There are a few medium-density units in the area, but no big impact on the enrolment numbers in a significant fashion. Most of the area transferred from Dee Why Public School consists of the industry area, so despite the sizable area transferred to Cromer Public School in 2023, the number of dwellings involved is fairly limited.

Today, I will go over Carlingford Public School and its new catchment for 2023. It has given up a portion of its existing catchment on the northeast to the Epping West Public School in 2023. It will give the southeast corner of its catchment to the newly established Epping South Public School in 2023.

I had a look at the map, it seems that the area Carlingford Public School is giving up in 2023 are all low-density dwellings so it should only have a limited reduction in enrolment number next year. The transfer to Epping West Public School is likely to be a very popular and potentially very profitable one as well for the residents involved.
