2023 Eastwood Public School Catchment Update

Today, I will go over Eastwood Public School and its new catchment for 2023. It has given up a small portion of its existing catchment on the north to the new Epping South Public School in 2023. This is the second shrinkage of the Eastwood Public School catchment in just a few years.

Looking at the changes, the net result in enrolment number should fairly small, the affected area consists entirely of the low-density residential area.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred away from Eastwood Public School to Epping South Public School in 2023. The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

2023 Epping West Public School Catchment Update

Today, I will go over Epping West Public School and its new catchment for 2023. It has given up around half of its existing catchment on the south part to the new Epping South Public School in 2023. It will pick up a section to the west from the Carlingford Public School.

Looking at the changes, the net result in enrolment number should result in a reduction in student number for Epping West Public School. This will primarily reflect in the 2023 kindergarten enrolment and progressively in the following years to the higher year ranges.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred away from Epping West Public School to Epping South Public School in 2023. The red-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Epping West Public School catchment from Carlingford Public School. The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

Epping South Public School Catchment Map 2023

Today, I will go over the catchment for the new Epping South Public School which is scheduled to open for all year range in 2023. This will impact the catchments of surrounding public schools dramatically.

The existing impacted most is the popular Epping West Public School which will see roughly about half of its southern catchment transferred to the new Epping South Public School. This area is shown in the red strip below. Epping West Public School is highly sought after by many parents, so this change will have a significant impact in the coming year likely on property values as well.

The black striped area which is the northern edge of the existing Eastwood Public School will be transferred to the new Epping South Public School in 2023. Eastwood Public School is another popular public school in the year which already saw a recent shrinking catchment due to the opening of the Smalls Road Public School. This one can have a possible impact on the property price in the area as well.

The yellow striped area which is mainly the southeast corner of the existing Carlingford Public School will be transferred to the new Epping South Public School in 2023.

Please note the black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

2023 Newly Established Epping South Public School And Surrounding Public Schools Catchment Changes

The newly established Epping South Public School will be opening in 2023 for all years ranging from kindergarten to year six. The new catchment of Epping South Public School will be mainly at expense of the super-popular Epping West Public School. Part of the existing Carlingford and Eastwood Public School will also be handed over to the new Epping South Public School in 2023. Epping West Public School will expand to the west receiving part of the existing catchment from Carlingford Public School in 2023.

I will be going over all the changes in detail in the coming days. Today is just a quick preview of the changes in all affected nearby schools.

2022 Mortlake Public School Catchment Update

This one is a little strange actually, it will give up the portion of the catchment that is west of the Majors Bay Road to Strathfield North Public School in 2022. The area given up consists of part of Concord Hospital and Majors Bay Reserve, there are no residential properties located in the area, so there will not be zero effect on the enrolment number.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Strathfield North Public School catchment from Mortlake Public School in 2022. The black border is the 2022 catchment boundary and the red is the 2021 boundary.

2022 Concord West Public School Catchment Update

The changes to the Concord West Public School catchment for 2022 are fairly small. It consists of both sides of Moala Street to the southern edge of its existing catchment. I had a quick look, it appears about 50 to 55 detached dwellings, so the changes to total enrolment would be very minimal.

Please note the red-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Concord West Public School catchment from Strathfield North Public School. The black border is the 2022 catchment boundary and the red is the 2021 boundary.

2022 Strathfield North Public School Catchment Update

Strathfield North Public School catchment for 2022 is undergoing a lot of changes. It both gained and lost a significant percentage of its existing catchment, I will detail the changes below.

Strathfield North Public school will transfer away both sides of Moala Street in the north to Concord West Public School in 2022. All the properties that I can see are low-density residential, so the affected enrolment number should be very minimal.

It will transfer the area north of Yarralla Street and west of Concord Road to Victoria Ave Public School in 2022. This area is a mix of low to medium residential properties.

It will gain the triangular area north of the motorway and west of the railway from Victoria Ave Public School in 2022. This area is a mix of low to medium residential properties.

It will also gain the area west of the Majors Bay Road from Mortlake Public School. However, this area is part of the Concord Hospital and Majors Bay Reserve, I do not see any residential properties in this area, so should have no effect on enrolment numbers for Strathfield North Public School in 2022.

Looking at all the gains and transfer away in the catchment for Strathfield North Public School for 2022, the overall effect on the enrolment number should be fairly neutral.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred away from Strathfield North Public School to Victoria Ave and Concord West Public School in 2022. The red-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Strathfield North Public School catchment from Victoria Ave and Mortlake Public School. 2022 Victoria Ave Public School Catchment Update

Victoria Ave Public School is a relatively new school that only opened in 2015. However, with a massive amount of high-density apartments built in the area recently, it is inevitable even the catchment of this recently opened school has to be changed again.

Victoria Ave Public School will pick up an area to the east between the railway and Concord Road and add to its existing catchment. This area mostly consists of low-density residential properties.

It will give up the entire southeast corner of its 2021 catchment to Homebush, Homebush West, and Strathfield North Public School in 2022. There is a healthy amount of medium to high-density residential properties located in the area that are being transferred away.

Looking at the catchment area gained and lost in 2022 for Victoria Ave Public School, it is safe to say its overall enrolment number will shrink very significantly.

Please note the green-striped areas are what will be transferred away from Victoria Ave Public School to Homebush, Homebush West, and Strathfield North Public School in 2022. 2022 Homebush West Public School Catchment Update

Homebush West Public School actually just completed a 30 million dollar expansion and renovation in 2019 which increased its classrooms from ten to thirty-six.

Homebush West Public School will expand its catchment to the east and add everything west of Airey Park to its 2022 catchment. This section is consists of medium to low-density residential buildings.

It will also add a section that is north of Parramatta Road and south of the motor to its 2022 catchment. This section mostly consists of commercial buildings with only a few residential houses.

Overall the expansion of the catchment in 2022 is not significant and should be handled well with its expanded capacity in 2019.

Please note the red-striped areas are what will be transferred to the Homebush West Public School catchment from Victoria Ave and Homebush Public School. The black border is the 2022 catchment boundary and the red is the 2021 boundary.
