Endeavour Sports And Sylvania High School Catchment Map 2023 Update

A major update is happening to the Endeavour Sports and Sylvania High School catchment in 2023.

The entire area north of Georges River, including the entire suburb of Sans Souci and part of the suburb of Ramsgate south of the Ramsgate Road will be transferred from Endeavour Sports to Sylvania High School in 2023. This area is highlighted with green stripes. This entire area is densely populated and consist of low to medium density dwellings. The area remains with Sylvania High School in 2023 from its existing catchment highlighted with purple stripes.

The area to the west of Taren Point Road and bounded by the water to the west which is highlighted with red stripes will be transferred from Sylvania High School to Endeavour Sports High School in 2023. The area remains with Endeavour Sports High School in 2023 from its existing catchment highlighted with yellow stripes.

The area transferred to Sylvania is very large in comparison to the area transferred to Endeavour High School. This will result in a very significant increase in the total enrolment number for Sylvania High School in the next few years starting from year 7. I had a look at Sylvania High School, there does not seem to be a recent expansion to its teaching spaces, so it must already have a lot of spare space available. It did recently complete an upgrade to its school hall.

The black border is the 2023 catchment boundary and the red is the 2022 boundary.

Homebush Boys High School Catchment Update For 2022

The catchment for Homebush Boys High School has been expanded northward to include the entire suburb of Sydney Olympic Park, Wentworth Point, and part of Concord West and Newington.

This one is a little unusual, Homebush Boys High School is usually overlaid with the Strathfield Girls High School catchment. This expansion is for Homebush Boys High School alone. The expansion is actually very expansive, pretty much doubles or even more than the existing catchment.

Another thing to note is that at this moment catchment for Concord High School is not reduced and will overlap with the new expansion of Homebush Boys High School catchment in 2022 in the western part.

Speculation Of School Catchment For The New High School At St Leonards Education Precinct

First let me say, the new site for the high school located in the new St Leonards Education Precinct is not definitive yet. I went over the information available and what I marked on the image below is what I think is the most likely site.

The new high school once established will most likely result in the shrinking of the catchment for Hunters Hill, Chatswood, and Cammeraygal High School. There will also be a likely ripple effect to the high schools further out as well. Willoughby Girls High School will not likely be impacted as its catchment is currently overlayed on top of existing schools.

The school is currently in the planning stage and we are not likely to see its establishment for another three to four years at the least.

Speculation Of High School Catchment For The New High School At Macquarie Park Education Precinct

The high school catchments around the newly proposed Macquarie Park Education Precinct are a bit of a mess. As you can see from the image below.

Again with the NSW Department of Education’s tendency to use major geographic features of using rivers, parks, and major roads to divide the school catchments, we can make some speculation on how the catchment will look like.

The new high school’s catchment will be at expense of Ryde Secondary College and Hunters Hill High School most likely. Epping Boys and Riverside Girls High School will also possibly be impacted, particularly given the recent moves by the NSW Department of Education that shift schools towards coed.

The majority of new apartments are between Epping Road and M2 Motorway, however, I would expect the new high school catchment will extend south past the Epping road as well. The catchment to the further west and south outside what is mentioned can also be impacted but if so will be to a lesser degree.
