I have been mapping the NSW school catchment for a long time and 2025 is really the year that most of number of changes that had happened. I won’t be able to go into every single changes in detail like I done for the previous years. Today I will focus on Georges River College, previously it was formed by merging Hurstville Boys and Penshurst Girls High School, they still remained as its own school just a name change.
2025 really is when the major changes came, a new school Georges River College Peakhurst has opened and Hurstville and Penshurst campus has been converted into coed as well. Pretty major changes of catchment also happened involving surrounding schools as well.
The black border is the 2025 catchment boundary and the red is the 2024 boundary. That being said, this year’s changes are so massive, it will be difficult to see every thing from the image below.

The red striped area belong to the Georges River College, Peakhurst campus’s catchment.
The yellow striped area belong to the Georges River College, Penshurst campus’s catchment.
The green striped area belong to the Georges River College, Hurstville campus’s catchment.

The most common name used by the NSW Department of Education is called “catchment” which refers to those students who reside in a particular area and are guaranteed a position in specific schools. When discussed from the perspective of a particular school is often referred to as one of the following terms.
