  1. Just wondering Mowbray road / north lanecove fall within which high school catchment zone?

    1. Mowbray Road should be all part of Chatswood High School. Lane Cove North is split between Chatswood High School and Hunters Hill High School. Also these area are also zoned under Willoughby Girls High School, however availability of this school is largely depend on demand and distance of residence to the school itself.

You can check the full high school catchment map at http://www.schoolcatchment.com.au/?page_id=488

  2. Mowbray Public school began in 1953 I think. A new Housing Commission estate had just been built and a school was needed for the huge number of children moving into the area. There were a lot of demountable classrooms and even then the school had to use the local Church of England school hall as a classroom. The school had pan toilets when it first opened with flush toilets being put in in abour 1960.

    1. Thank you sharing the information, it is surprisingly hard to find information about schools online. I am always interested in the history and origin of various of schools.
