  1. Residents living in south of Plumpton Road but east of Pennant Parade should be better classified under Epping West public as they don’t need to pass through the busy turnabout at the conjunction of these two roads. If the population growth of these 2 school zone is uncertain, it is good to have a transition period during which school zones can partially overlap for these 2 schools in this area.

    1. Hi Keith,

It is very rare for NSW schools at the primary level to have overlapping school catchments. There are a couple of reasons I think it is highly unlikely the above-mentioned area will go under Epping West Public School as well. First is that this area is closer to Roselea than Epping West Public School. Second, Epping West is a very popular and in-demand school, having overlapping catchments to achieve relatively little as most of the parents will likely opt for Epping West instead. Third, when I am looking at the catchment area of both schools in question. Roselea Public School entirely consists of single dwellings, so its enrolment number will be very stable in the short to medium time frame. This is unlike Epping West Public School, I can see more medium to high density residential buildings going up in its catchment, so despite the massive downsize in its catchment, its current catchment is more likely to further shrink rather than expand in the near future.
